What Is Dysport®?
Dysport® is a prescription injectable that is used to temporarily treat mild to moderate wrinkles of the face by weakening the muscles of expression. Dysport® is a newer formulation of traditional BOTOX® Cosmetic (abobotulinumtoxinA) that ceases the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine to the muscles of facial expression. This in turn causes the muscles to relax, stopping muscle contraction. You will then experience a decrease in muscle movement which helps to soften fine lines and wrinkles.
The most common areas treated with Dysport® injections are the frown lines between the eyes, the crow’s feet, and the horizontal lines of the forehead, as these are all caused by frequent muscle contraction. With continued use of this dermal filler, these lines should gradually fade, and a smoother facial surface should result.

The Dysport® Injection Process

To begin your Dysport® injections, the target areas will be numbed with an ice pack, reducing potential discomfort during treatment. Using very small needles, Dysport® is carefully injected into the prepared areas with the utmost precision. The entire process—from the consultation through the injection process—takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. You will receive detailed aftercare instructions to help you get the most from your Dysport® treatment.
